México: Editorial Pedro Robredo, 1939. 1 leaf, 3 unnumbered leaves of plates facsimiles, frontis., b/w illus., facs. ltrs. Attractively Bound. The Franciscans printed 80 of the 139 titles known to have been published from 1539 to 1600 in New Spain, of which about 66 were in Nahuatl, the main language of central Mexico. "My work is copied in the diligent and complete descriptions of the 16th century books made by the masters of Mexican bibliography, although I have tried, whenever possible, to examine directly the books described. To do this, I have consulted the valuable collection "Icazbalceta" at the University of Texas at Austin and the few books that are preserved in the National Library (Mexico). When I have not seen the work, I have copied its description, especially from (Joaquín García) Icazbalceta and (José Toribio) Medina." --translated from pages 12-13.
