Comitatus Bentheim et Steinfurt.
- Amsterdam: , C1650.
Large double page map (22" x 19 1/2"), some coloring, text title cartouche in bottom right corner. Unclear when coloring was done, some expert repairs at fold on verso, ample margins, text on verso, some minor soiling and browning; otherwise very good. Nice impression. Willem Blaeu (1571-1638) was the founder of one of the great cartographic publishing dynasties, which produced some of the best maps of the period. This is very attractive early map showing Bentheim and Steinfurt in Germany. A colorful title cartouche with several-colored coat of arms helps decorate the map. Van De Gohm p. 104-106.
