Partie Occidentale De L' Empire de Russie…
- Paris: , 1771.
Engraved map, two sheets joined together, 27" x 20", hand colored in outline, title cartouche in center of map. Ample margins, some minor aging, fold slightly visible; otherwise very good plus to near fine. Impression is bright and clean. Rigobert Boone (1727-1795) succeeded Bellin as the Royal Cartographer of France. He produced highly respected maps during his day, and was know for his accurate detail. This is an attractive and detailed large map of Russia. Sometimes this map is presented in two separate pages with a middle border, but this one is joined together, and actually looks better than the other version. The map itself covers Russia from the Baltic Sea to Siberia, and the Bering Straits. The map also covers European Russia, and its sub divisions, and a large title cartouche is in the center of the map in the upper section. Norwich. legends.mapsofworld.com
