- Chicago:: Keen and Lee, 1855.
Small 8vo (7 1/4 x 4 3/4), original red cloth with gilt lettering and decoration on spine, illustrated, 264 pp. Some soiling and shelf wear, top joint a bit split, land hinge is a little weak, light foxing, some erasure wear to preliminary page, otherwise very good. Parker published this work a little over ten years after Iowa became a state. Parker claims no other state in the Union offers so many inducements to immigrate to go there. The book covers the climate, soil, available railroads, rivers, population, banking houses, and the Constitution of the State of Iowa.
