  • Suffolk County:: Arts-Craft Press,, 1939.
By Turrell, Loring W.
8vo, black cloth, silver title label on top cover, errata slip tipped in, illustrated, 89 pp. Slight shelf wear; otherwise near fine. This privately printed title (No. 67 of 200 copies) was originally going to focus on ornithology. However, while all the black and white woodcuts are of birds, the author indicates discussion would also cover bird habitat, and topographical and floral characteristics too. In addition to the bird illustrations, there are three folding maps at the back of the book showing the Smithtown Area, the geological considerations, and the habitat of the area. # 104182
