From the library of Civil War historian Bud Robertson, with his bookplate on the front endpaper. Robertson, in his section on "Military Aspects--Soldier's Life" in the Nevins Bibliography, notes that this is history is "[b]ased for the most part on Pellet's wartime journals" and considers it to be "a fresh memoir of Federal service in Louisiana and the Valley of Virginia" (Nevins I, 143). This copy with a presentation inscription from Pellet to a "Dr. W. W. Bliss" and several names from the Colt family, including a name and address sticker on the title page. Green embossed cloth. Rebacked copy with most of the original spine laid down. (Nevins I, 143). Very Good binding.
