The Summer comes and the Summer goes;
Wild-flowers are fringing the dusty lanes,
The sparrows go darting thro' fragrant rains,
And, all of a sudden--it snows

Published version reads:

The shallows go darting through fragrant rains,
Then, all of a sudden--it snows.
