Supplement aux Nouvelles Extraordinaires de Divers Droits de Leide le 14 Novermbre 1713
- [Leyden] , 1713
[Leyden], 1713. Small ink annotation to left margin. Fine. A scarce broadside commemorating a Russian victory over Sweden in the Great Northern War (1700-21).
This broadside is a supplement to the Gazette de Leyde, which was founded in 1677 by Jean Alexandre de la Font. The importance of the journal lays in its subtitle: "de divers endroits", meaning that due to the number of correspondents he had at his disposal throughout Europe and overseas, de la Font's journal functioned as a proper source of international news. This is an excellent example.
