Business Card for Arthur A. Waite, "Children's Chalk-talker
- United States , 1880
United States, 1880. Near-fine.. A clever trompe-l'oeil business card for "Arthur A. Waite Children's Chalk-talker", which resembled a chalk board with the upper left-hand corner folded over. Measures approx. 2.75" by 1.25". Cites a Bible verse in the upper right-hand corner ("John 3:16"). It is for Arthur Waite, who began his career as a mesmerist and medium and converted to Christianity around 1870 and deemed himself an artist evangelist. He delivered evangelizing sermons to children using illustrated chalk-talks.
