Screaming Mimi (Two original photographs from the 1958 film)

  • Culver City, CA: Columbia Pictures, 1958
By Anita Ekberg, Phil Carey, Gypsy Rose Lee, and Harry Townes (starring); Fredric Brown [Frederic, Frederick] (novel); Gerd Oswald (director); Robert Blees (screenwriter)
Culver City, CA: Columbia Pictures, 1958. Two vintage black-and-white studio still photographs from the 1958 film. Based on the 1949 Fredric Brown novel.

One of the weirdest and most wonderful of the Columbia B-noirs, a very faithful adaptation of Fredric Brown's byzantine mystery novel, with Anita Ekberg (pre-"La Dolce Vita") put to good use as a dancing siren, and the Red Norvo Trio performing icy strains of modern jazz both live and in the soundtrack.

8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with a tiny chip to the edge of one photo.
