There is a prior owner's bookplate on the front pastedown, and there are very occasional barely perceptible tide marks on the pages. Illustrations by the Author. Johnny Gruelle is best known for creating Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy, the fanciful dolls and storybook characters that led him to national prominence in only a few years' time.
