From the Preface- "The object in writing this book has been to form a permanent record of the early Jews of Utah, Utah, having been founded by the Mormons, and that sect having been the overwhelmingly predominant one in the State, its story has been told in thousands of books and documents. The histories of the Catholic and Protestant groups in that area have likewise been written. But only fragmentary records of Utah's Jewish pioneers are available.
