Chicago: Zev Braun Productions, 1970. Draft script for an unproduced film called "Carruthers," circa early 1970s. Written by David Zelag Goodman, whose film credits include "Monte Walsh" (1970), "Straw Dogs" (1970), "Farewell, My Lovely" (1975), "Logan's Run" (1976), and "Eyes of Laura Mars " (1978).

Based on a story by Benjamin Manaster ("Goldstein," 1964, director), set in Texas just before the Civil War, with lead character named Carruthers, an Army Captain, and references to the Mexican Army and the Alamo. Black slave characters also present, as well as reference to the "N" word. It appears Carruthers is hung from the gallows at "Fade Out."

White titled wrappers. Title page present, undated, with credits for screenwriter Goodman and story writer Manaster. 111 leaves, with last page of text numbered 109. Mechanical duplication. Pages and wrapper Near Fine, bound internally with three gold brads.
