By Andre Rouveyre (Henri Matisse)
Paris: Raisons D'Etre, 1952. Original wraps. Near Fine. Henri Matisse. Sumptuous 1952 biography of the poet Apollinaire, beautifully illustrated by Henri Matisse. #268 of only 380 copies issued which include 8 original Matisse lithos (2 as the front and rear card wrappers and the other 6 within the text). Bright, well-preserved and VG+, with light foxing to the panels and light creasing at the first several leaves (mildly affecting the title page and the first lithograph). Folio, unbound signatures as issued. The Matisse lithographs once again printed by the great French firm Mourlot Freres. A lovely title issued by Raison D'Etre of Paris.
