With "Compliments of Harper & Brothers" in contemporary pen on the title page. The extremities are mildly rubbed, the underlying boards are exposed at the corners, and the paper at the spine ends is a bit chipped. There is a prominent ding in the fore edge of the front board. With 13 illustrations by C. E. Chambers, many in full color.
