2 Handwritten Letters

Lavagna, Italy, 1972. Near Fine. 2 warm, handwritten letters from the great Italian designer and children's author and illustrator Leo Lionni to pioneering graphic artist Cipe Pineles (former art director at Charm, Seventeen and Mademoiselle). Written from Lavagna, Italy in 1972 and commisserating over the loss of her husband graphic designer Will Burtin, both letters are bright and very legible in their strong ink and are clean and nicely-preserved, with very subtle folds running horizontally. Each letter measures 5 3/4" x 9 1/2" and each includes its original handwritten envelope.
