Kansas, 1957. Hardcover. Very Good. Oblong quarto measuring 12.5" x 10". String-tied red leather over stiff paper boards with stamped decorations. Contains 109 sepia-toned, black and white, or color gelatin silver photographs measuring between 2.5" x 3.5" and 3.5" x 5" with some captions. Very good album with loose pages, tears, and edgewear, with near fine photographs.
A photo album beginning in the late 1950s following a car enthusiast Kansas family. Most of the pages show different views of 1940s and 50s-era Chevy sedans and convertibles. Some of these photos show men in suits and hats posed in front of the cars, other photos show them posed with dogs. A few of the photographs have printed dates for 1954 through 1959. Later photos show color photographs of cars in 1958 and some undated photographs appear to be from the late 1960s and early 1970s. Other photos show the family posed around their house with wide brimmed hats, shirtless men, and pets. One photo shows a man drinking from a jug; others show little girls with puppies.
