Pennsylvania, 1902. Softcover. Very Good. Oblong small quarto measuring 10" x 7". Flexible paper boards. Contains 82 sepia-toned or black and white gelatin silver photographs as well as some cyanotypes measuring between 1" x 1" and 3.5" x 4.5" with some captions. Good only album with detached but present pages, chips, and tears with very good or better photographs.

A photo album kept between 1897 and 1903 by the Burghard family with numerous of the photos printed as cyanotypes. The photos are not in chronological order and begin with a page showing the summer of 1900 with photos of a woman posed a field, a man shooting into the air, and a dog. Following this is the family home and farm in 1898 and the family posed at a picnic table and in the grass of their backyard. One section of photographs shows young women posed in a garden with flowers with a penciled in caption reading "Elsie and Blanche Burghard." Another page shows a snow covered grave site for "Gussie Burghard." Other photographs show a uniformed man posed for a portrait with a sheet behind him, women sitting in a hammock, and people at a garden party. A woman is seen practicing the violin and people are posed with their bicycles. The final page shows people plowing a field and posed with a dog.

A nice collection of family photography with interesting printing processes.
