1938. Hardcover. Very Good. Oblong quarto measuring 13" x 10". String-tied green paper boards with "photographs" stamped in gilt on the front board. Contains 185 sepia-toned or black and white gelatin silver photographs measuring between 2.5" x 3.5" and 3" x 5" with captions. Very good album with chips and tears with near fine photographs.

A photo album with United States travel photographs with an emphasis on National Park stays. The album opens with the American Legion National Convention 1938 in Los Angeles. The opening page shows a "parade in Los Angeles" with women in uniform marching down the street with a captain that reads "D.C. colors in parade in Los Angeles." Following this are a number of photos from various National Park and other US city trips beginning with Yellowstone National Park with photos of the geysers and falls of the park. They went on to Painted Desert National Park and visited the Petrified Forest and posed with a large log. Other stops included Iowa, with a photo of the Mississippi, Memphis, and Little Rock. One of the larger sections of photos shows "views of the Grand Canyon." These include images of the rock formations, tourists posed by the canyons, and a Hopi watch tower. They also went on to Zion National Park, Idaho, Salt Lake City, Nevada, and even some photos from Mexico. A view of the Boulder Dam shows a collaged together photo of the full dam. In one section the group visited the Yale Bowl and posed around the famous stadium. Later photos show a trip to Lake Placid and Vermont.

A wonderful collection of well-composed travel photographs from the United States.
