(Harrisburg, Pennsylvania): Clarence M. Busch, State Printer of Pennsylvania, 1893. ORIGINAL EDITION, NOT A REPRINT. Softcover. Good, clean, tight contents but for a bit of age toning to page edges; covers tearing at edges/spine; back cover detached but present; a bit soiled with dust from the exposition.. Tan stapled wraps with bw lettering and border. 218 pp. with 3 bw frontis pieces and numerous additional bw images. Pristine folding plan of the exposition. Publicity photo of Paderewski (and someone else on reverse), presumably cut from a program booklet at the exposition, laid in. Full of all sorts of interesting Pennsylvania facts that even this Pennsylvanian didn't know: 279 Pennsylvania birds; 95 varieties of wood native to Centre County; cereals, grasses, forage plants; coal and graphite; china and porcelain; etc., and, of course, the Liberty Bell. Paderewski's picture likely was in here, because he gave the inaugural concert for the exposition. He only performed on Steinway pianos, and Steinway was not an exhibitor. It was suggested that Ignacy might use a piano of one of the exhibitors, and he basically replied, "No Steinway, no concert." They got him a Steinway.
