[SOUTHERN AMERICANA] DEEP WATERS: A STORY OF PREDESTINATION

By R[obert] H[askins] Crozier
Richmond, Virginia: Richmond Press, Inc, n.d.. Second Edition. Crozier -- a Presbyterian pastor and a Confederate soldier -- believed that the "South must have a literature of her own" in order to counter "poisonous Northern literature" which has "vilified the Southern people" [see Preface to his first book, The Confederate Spy]. Licensed to preach in 1872, Deep Waters is his first book directly reflecting his religious stance. This Second Edition is undated, but was probably issued in the 1890's.
