Historical Atlas of the World Illustrated.

Jones, Charles H. Historical Atlas of the World Illustrated. Chicago: Higgins Bros. & Co., 1876. Large folio, embossed cloth with what appears to be leatherette spine and tips, unpaginated, illustrated with color maps. Edgewear to bing, but binding remains sound, third panel of Nebraska map detached, but third panel included, loose and with some margin damage, paper a little fragile, tears and chips in margins, normal aging. Overall about very good. Unusual and not that common atlas that contains over 60 plates of maps, about a dozen are double page maps of the United States, California, Texas, Asia, and Europe Africa are included. There is also a three-panel map of Nebraska in the front of the atlas. The third panel of that map is detached, but included. It appears map number 46 is misnumbered, and should be 36. Nevertheless, it appears that all maps are present. A nice attractive atlas in pretty good shape. Extra postage required.
