1906. Softcover. Very Good. Oblong small octavo. Measuring 6.5" x 6". String-tied paper wrappers. Contains 9 sepia-toned or cyanotype photographs measuring between 2.5" x 4" and 3.75" x 4.5", with captions. Very good album with curling and short tears with near fine photographs. A photo album with a contemporary label which reads "Jessie and Friend 1901 and 1903" but also including photos from 1906. The album begins with a group of women posed on the steps of a Catholic church in 1901. Other photos show groups of friends lounging on each other in the grass and picnicking in the woods. Some of the photos are printed with special borders around them. Many of the images are captioned with tongue-in-cheek phrases including one of a woman hopping a fence which reads, "Julie, ye athletic girl;" another group photo reads "the smile that won't come off." Another photo shows girls goofing off chopping wood in August 1903 with one woman pointing out the wood to be cut.

A modest but interesting collection of photographs showing young women at the turn of the century.
