A photo album kept by a soldier stationed in North Africa, Italy, and France during World War II. The album begins in North Africa in 1943 with photos of Egyptian ruins and soldiers posed next to them. Other photos from this time show men by their tents and at the mess hall as well as a shot of the entire encampment. Following this the photos show the voyage to France in 1944 with photos of the men on their transport ship. From France they traveled into Italy with images captioned "Naples" and "Rome" many of which are stamped "passed for personal use only not for publication." Other photos include train travel, ruined buildings, and local Italians. The soldiers boarded a shop for the port town of Toulon, France in 1944 then headed to Marseilles with images of ships, harbors, and time at sea. They spent time around Troyes, France in the winter of 1945 seen here in snapshots of tourist attractions and military men posed around the city. The outfit was sent to Hersfeld, Germany later in 1945 seemingly as part of a cleanup and refugee relief group. Many of these photos show men with local German women in flirty poses. One photo from a train station in Germany is captioned "Hitler's train." The album ends with photos from Duisberg, Germany which capture building and monuments around the city.

An interesting collection of military photographs showing Europe in the last two years of the war.
