Liger's "Dictionaire" was an influential French agricultural and household management dictionary covering various aspects of rural and urban household management principles, including viticulture and wine production. The dictionary gained prominence for its practical advice and detailed information. The dictionary's influence extended beyond France, and was referenced in culinary works in other countries, such as England, where recipes and techniques were adapted and incorporated into local cookbooks. This cross-country influence demonstrates the dictionary's importance in the development of European culinary traditions int he 18th century. Liger's work provided one of the earliest definitions of "terrior" in relation to wine.
