Fictional "travelogue" or narrative describing the process of milling through the eyes of two young women from Minneapolis. Russell-Miller Milling Company was established in 1882 by John Russell and Arthur Miller in Valley City, North Dakota, on the banks of the Sheyenne River. The company quickly became known for its high-quality Occident brand flour, a name chosen to reflect its western origins in wheat production. Illustrated throughout. Light soiling to top 2 cm. of front cover, otherwise crisp and clean.
