Jenny Wren Ready-Mixed Flour featured a blend of hard and soft wheat flour and included salt and self-rising ingredients to make it useful in an assortment of recipes. In 1926, Lawrence businessman R.C. Jackman founded the radio station WREN as a way to promote his Ready-Mix Flour. The transmitter was in the storage room of the mill and the microphone stood on a stack of empty flour sacks. The flour mill operated on the riverfront of the Kaw River in conjunction with the Bowersock Mill. Very lightly soiled.
