About

Some 30,000 art books, exhibition catalogues, ephemera, and periodicals fill the shelves and files and map cases in my office in downtown La Jolla. The stock is mainly modern and contemporary material in all languages, plus other interesting outliers. Visitors are most welcome, but an appointment is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment on both sides. Two other antiquarians, D. G. Wills and ABAA member Barry Ruderman, are a few blocks away. ABAA members Churchill Book Collector, Scott Emerson, Beverly Karno, and Cliff Niederer are neighbors in San Diego County. Good restaurants abound. Unexpected cultural treats include a superb private map museum and a subscription library -- the Athenaeum -- specializing in music and art, with a rich collection of modern artists' books and regular art exhibitions and concerts.
